Starting an Etsy Shop

Whew! It's been awhile, but I'm back with a vengeance (avengeance? all one word? no?)! I've been trying to get my freelancing business up and running, which is definitely no small feat. So far I've got business cards and this blog. Not much, I know, but hey, no one said starting a business was easy!

I've got a small image portfolio on Photobucket ready to send to potential clients, and am in the process of putting together a super-deluxe-knock-your-socks-off PDF Portfolio. Now that I have the beginnings of a small freelance business, I am going to start selling some of my creations on Etsy.

First and foremost, I LOVE etsy. Seriously. Serious love. Have you SEEN some of the wonders on that site? It is so inspiring to see what everyone has created with their own imaginations. I am always in awe of everyone's talents.

It's a Winter Wonderland Scarfette by Vicki0908. And she has other colors too! Now if only I had $50... a relatively inexpensive price to pay for such creativity and style, but alas, like my tiny kitchen, I also have a tiny wallet.

Here's what I'm going to be selling - it's a Custom Made, Hardbound, 8x8" Photobook. I specialize in weddings and events, but there really are no limits when it comes to the different kinds of books that can be made!


Each book is hardbound with a quality stitching that allows them to lay virtually flat on the table (see photo below). Ideal for a coffee table book!



They come in two sizes: 8"x8" or 12"x12". The 2 shown here are 8"x8", and the square size really makes them stand out from other coffee table books you may own.


I do all the layout and design myself, so that it is personalized just for the customer! I have 5+ years of experience in graphic design, so I really create exactly what you envision. These books work especially well as wedding albums (beats paying $5,000+ to the photographer!!), as I can use a custom color palette that will match the colors of your wedding.



Even the binding is personalized! There aren't any manufacturer's logos anywhere on the books, so they truly are "yours". I'll do the work, but you can take the credit!
